Hello,

Before i go out and buy another monitor I would like to find out if i can do what i need to with two Monitors.

At the moment i have the HP LP2275W http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/sm/WF05a/382087-382087-64283-3884471-3884471-3648453.html
which is a amazing screen, what i am wanting to do is to get another screen (not sure what size but a cheapy) and use this cheap screen to show the grisd and devalopment sliders and on my HP screen to view the image in full screen - hope this makes sence and is this possible?

Cheers
Mark

Yes, you can show the grid on the second display. I'm not in front of LR2 right now, but the 2nd display can be used for 4 views.. Grid, Loupe, and 2 others.

No, unlike photoshop, you cannot drag the "tool boxes" / ie development sliders etc, to the second display to free up more real estate on your primary display.

Here's how I work in LR (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=8194847&postcount=2).

I switch the secondary screen between grid and loupe view mostly.

Cheers, so the only way to show the image full screen would be to hit the 'TAB' key and that doesn't matter if i've got 1 or 2 displays? My HP display can spin 90 deg to portrait, but in LR i can't make use of it as with all the sliders showing in devalopement the image is the same size on the screen as its was in landscape.

Not right now. LR2 was supposed to have that a while ago, but adobe's been slacking (some of that is due to the fact they want everything the same on both windows and mac, but harder to program that stuff on mac)

I'm really liking the 2 display functionality of LR2 - it is much more efficient IMO.

I've jst seen some where that 'you can fool it to a certain extent, by dragging the Develop module window wider that one screen, so that the sliders appear on a second screen positioned to the right of the main screen.'

Has anyone tried this?

Doable, but that also means you miss out on fullscreen modes and having things on the second screen other than the tools.
