Markins Tripod Bases

I can't find the thread where someone gave me advice that I didn't need the Markins Tripod base if I was getting the Gitzo GT3541LS and Markins M20...

I stumbled upon this picture on Google, of someone from Nikonians.org talking about it, but I can't get to the article as I'm not a member, all I can see is this picture...

Can anyone help out on what they are saying and if its good advice?

I've got the 3541LS legs and M20 and you can't use the base on that set up. To use one it requires part of the center column that the Systematics don't have.

Duh, and it shows in the picture too that TB-30 is on a GT3540, I missed it. Forgive the errant post.
