Hi,
Do I need a model release if the picture shows the back of a person? No face is shown on the picture.
Thanks in advance!

Is this a model that you hired? Even if you are not shooting the "face," I would still have that person sign a release form. Anyone I shoot I have sign a release form.

Model releases are a matter of local laws and legal precedences. Some localities have evidenced more sensitivities than others. In most US juristictions, the key element is "recognizable," and recognizable has been shown in court to be "recognizable by people who know the subject."
There are plenty of people I can recognize from behind, so I'd advise getting a release.
