I recently purchased a Canon FS200 camcorder. One use will be recording performances of song parody videos for online posting. Can anyone suggest a (preferably inexpensive) microphone known to work well with this camcorder? Thanks in advance for any help!

The Rode StereoVideoMic at $249.99 has worked very well for me with a Panasonic PV GS500, Canon HV20, a pair of Canon HF100's, and with a ZoomH2 sound recorder.
But this one:

at under $75 does darn near as well, read the users reviews. My son has one and it is pretty amazing and flexible for the price.
Like all external mics, it needs to be off the camera and fairly close in to speaking talent. I use a 16' mini stereo shielded etension cable. Run tests.

Thanks, Bruce. I'll definitelyhave a look at the candidates you suggest.
