Hi folks,

Wanted to test the waters on this forum. We have had great help from here in the past.

We started renting out Medium Format Mamiya cameras and lenses at BorrowLenses.com (http://www.borrowlenses.com/category/Mamiya) and wanted to see if there was interest in it. Hoping that this is not a lost cause and we did not just spend $60k for nothing.

Any interest in people trying this out? Feedback more than welcome.

I would love to play around with one but considering that the system isn't something I'm familiar with or can really afford to buy into, I couldn't see myself renting it. If the system happened to come down in price to where I would consider buying it, I would be far more likely to rent the equipment and give it a whirl before commiting to a purchase. Until then, I'll choose to commit my resources to the Canon system for now.
One mans opinion :)

I think there may be some interest...for those who can afford it. This is definitely the right forum to broadcast, too. Look at all of the guys in the equipment forum

Try moving this thread there and seeing if it gains more attention.

I think you could benefit by targeting a base of clients that would have a need for a camera like this. The general enthusiast doesn't, but what about the commercial pro? The glamour and nude people may have an interest in this unit, too.

I have worked with several medium format digital camera systems as a digital tech in the past. I have found a lot of photographers that rent the cameras are not really used to them and can use an extra hand.

Do you offer a digital tech service?

Mamiya have prices that now compare to a 1ds mk 3 and lens. For the benefits of medium format if i had the money i would certainly be giving it a long hard look.

I feel you would have been fine with the lower end mamiyas (ZD etc) rather than the high end. I feel that would appeal to a wider audience.
