Thanks CDS. considering I had to run, find the camera, change the lens, Shot through a window at a feeder that was spinning around like a merry-go-round because of the wind we've had these past 2 days, I thought it came out pretty good. I guess you got hammered with the wind in Rhode Island.

Despite all, it's a good shot, Sandy. We saw lots of goldfinches at a feeder in the NC campground where we stayed for a couple weeks. I wasn't too proud of my shots, however.

you got them very well.
they are so flighty it's a test of our patience trying to photograph birds
swinging beautiful canaries.
it must have been a thrill to see their flash of colour

Thank you Marie, yes it was nice to see them back after being away for so long. Don't know why but there was a couple of years I never saw any at the feeders

They're beautiful birds ... always fun to capture. To keep them coming back ... get a finch feeder (tube feeder with very small openings) and fill it with some thistle (nyjer) seed. Goldfinches love that stuff!

Very nice Sandy. If they are back, you can probably get a lot more shots without the wind and spinning feeder. Love the goldfinch!

Goldfinch? Isn't that a James Bond character? :) Nice shot, let's have more pictures of those birds soon.
