Just (10pm) got back from the local beach. West Kirby on the Wirral. Strode out across the sand as sun was going down to catch this. Got into an argument with a bloke walking his dog who warned me that the tide was coming in - it wasn't and I have the tide table to prove it.
You wouldn't think it from this but it was blowing an absolute gale (I had to hold on to the tripod to stop it blowing over) and was freezing cold - my ears are still stinging)

Just pointed the camera down for this one.

Great shots Damian, you would never guess the wind was blowing by the first photo.

Great photos, it is worth the stinging ears!
Love the second one too, nature creates the most amazing patterns.

I like the shots. Did you edit the second one at all? I think maybe it needs some more contrast, but I'm not sure.

bring your camera (and sunglasses) to workhttp://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif
our country is so small (compared to some) that we can see the rising and the setting of the sun
almost together http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

Thanks everyone - it was worth th cold.
Marie - I think in Britian you can never be more than 70 mils from the sea. So easy to take a few snaps on the east coast and the head for the west and take some of the sunset.

yes, I think everywhere here is only 50 miles from the sea (that sounds daft)
I mean inland (I think)
the whole country can be done in a day trip ......
