I am picking up a new 60 tomorrow. I shoot sports. I am sure it will do a better job, I just want to hear ya'll tell me about the day you made the move, and how great it was, and I can't sleep so give me some storys to tell my grand children. Oh by the way, I need a little bit more light, for those really dark field lights. My 70-200.2.8 is great but,,,,,, how bout the 85 1.8???????

D60 for sports? I've been hearing that the Canon for sports is the 1D (note...that is 1D NOT 1Ds). It's got 8fps burst speed.

how dark are these field lights? i'd say the 2.8 is plenty fast, & if need be increase the iso to 200 or 400.......
but re: the 85mm, it's great. i own the 100mm f/2 & i can't say enough great things. these 2 lenses are essentially the same, +- 15mm, although the 100mm has inner focusing (i.e. no visible extension)... they're tack sharp.
BUT i bet you'll find yourself going back to the 70-200 for convenience. my opinion would be to save your moolah for now.
