So first off, i suck at Vimeo apparently, either its just bad on my end or for some reason the clip is playing pretty choppy and has some strange artifacts that look related to interlacing, even though the actual file has none of these issues...

also, i have no idea how to embed a video on here haha.

the link has more info pertaining to the clip..

I've noticed on Vimeo that if you don't allow the entire clip to load up, its choppy etc, so I just hit play and then pause, let the clip load, and when its done loading, I watched it. No issues, clear and smooth. Nice intro...

The jerky pannings distract from the overall message towards the end of the clip.try slower, more subtle panning, especially in the stair scene. overall good intro though. i really dig the contrast of the guy on the couch with the scotch on the table. very nice touch

Very nice. Music and environmental factors (namely Dear Old Dad passed out on the couch due to Scotch) definately set a strong mood of disaffected youth.

Two Thoughts. One artistic and one technical:

1) I realize that pulling focus with the 5DMkII is "problematic" but IMO, I see a pattern developing where you're just letting your subject walk from OOF into focus and back OOF again. Unless it's a metaphor for life going in and out of focus (which it certainly can), I'd at least try and rack your focus with your subject some.

2) "artifacts related to interlacing..." Can not be when the video is 1080p and not 1080i. It may be due to compression for the web but progressive scan video has no interlacing.

Very nice start to your project. Good Luck with it the rest of the way.

I am a photographer and want this camera for it's full frame sensor... but I find myself drawn to it's video capabilities.

Nice work, I liked it.

The soundtrack is cool, nicely paced, pleasant to the ear... like your stadium poster, kind of lets you step into the vastness of it... the t-shirt crossword puzzle is also a positive addition to wardrobe...the flower arrangement is excellent, while the bride's pic also adds meaning to the new day... Overall interesting and eye pleasing... Seems like a lot of different little scenes, packed into only 90 seconds.

I quite like it! The soundtrack's not too heavy on the ear and fits with the mood of the video. Perhaps you could pan the camera a little smoother (I guess you just need practice with the glidecam) and a little slower for the "picking up the photograph and putting it at the window" clip.

The film is nice yet i can see more potential. It looks like you could use some more lighting for some scenes where the main character is standing in front of a bright window. also you have some jerky pan movements which are distracting. However like i said it has great potential. good job
