Well, you couldn't ask for better photographer's weather for motor racing. I love the wet tracks for the extra action, but hailstones the size of peas was pushing it a bit. Here are a few from today to show the weather and I'll add a couple more tomorrow that are less wether orientated and are more to do with good shots and action.

Ginettas in the hail. My stetson had half an inch of them in the brim:

GT's in the wet with headlights on look superb:

Waaay too cool. Really neat. Love the Ginnettas in the hail. Favorite is in my minds eye of half inch of ice on a black hat, hehehe ;-)

Stunning! My favourite is the white 360 shot, looks as if it's going to aquaplane into you!

A very dedicated photographer indeed !. The shorts are definitely worth the effort though. Superb !
I wonder what hail sounds like bouncing off a crash helmet ? :-)

I was another spectator at Croft getting lashed with the very bizarre weather Kenny..

The only fella with a funny hat I saw was this guy...:)

PS: I only live about 4 miles from Charlie Hollings..;) Know him well.

Just so you dont think the whole day was torrential rain and hail, just most of it was:

This is one of my "think of composition" shots:

Very happy winners of the GT race:

I hope you have enjoyed the F3/GT series of shots as much as I did taking them.

Buster, I live on the Harrogate road out of Leeds, so not too far away myself. I'm busy with a bit of PJ work with him but don't want to say too much in advance.

Mums the word then. I don't know whether to remind him of this weekend or not. Ah well, been there myself and you get over it. He should like this one:

I can tell you, I was wearing shorts and the hail was really stinging the legs... it really did pelt down.. so god knows what it must of been like in the cars, driving into it... great shots Ken

Excellent shots, as usual! I'm glad I never needed 'hail tires'! That would have really stung before the days of full-face helmets!!! ;-)

Kenny, superb shots! In the last photo, of the yellow pet treat company car, what is the funky intake on the side. I know this is not related to photography, butI've never seen an intake like that. Is it for a turbo? Just curious!

KennyG
11th of May 2005 (Wed), 17:39
It is an air intake with a restrictor. All F3 cars have the same type of intake and all have identical restrictors. They can tune the engines to their heart's content, but they can only feed it so much air.

Reference the hail. I am worried that the TV camera guy zoomed in on my stetson when it was full of hail. Maybe when/if it is shown the hat will become famous, certainly more so than the person wearing it.

I am so jealous.. they never do anything but boring circle racing around here. Nascar sucks! :D

 Think of the advantages, mate. When you want to be mobbed by your adoring fans you can just wear the hat but when you're in a Bardot type "I vant to be alone" mood, take off the hat and you can wander round Tescos in peace! ;)

Kenny.. I can tell you it will be shown on Sky this coming weekend, Jeff (Charles dad) told me it was on so check with your new TV Guide..:D

PS: I will speak to him and update the viewing if possible..

I can see it now "KennyG TV personality burried in hail"...

Cheers Buster. I keep appearing on various TV programs, by accident I hasten to add, as I am at a lot of the events that get televised. My wife says the novelty of seeing me on TV has worn off and would I keep a lower profile in future - I think she means the hat. :)
