Bright sunlight makes for harsh light, if you had an external flash you could have tried to use some fill light but if you don't have one there is nothing you really could have done. Other than that the picture looks underexposed, the whole right side of the picture doesn't really do anything, and it looks like it could use some sharpening as well. Lastly, without seeing the grenade launcher itself it sort of defeats the purpose of the picture imo. I realize you wouldn't be able to get in front of the launcher but would you have at least been able to get a profile shot? It would have been nice to see their faces.

Outside the critique I think the picture is sweet for the timing. I've tried to take pictures of guns firing, it's not easy at all.

Anyways, I'm really no expert but here's my attempt with it
