Hey Guys
So I have been playing with off camera flash and having a great time!
However I found my old 277T flash that came with my old T70 and would love to use it as well. The CTR-301P wont fire the flash though, Ive search around but cant find any advice a few people say they have to cycle the power after it fires but I cant find anyone who has tried using it with these triggers.
My question is should this be working?
If not can the flash unit or one of my triggers be modified to work?
Thanks!
-Jeff

ok so Ive been playing more... I read that just shorting the side pin and the center pin should fire the flash.. however this does not seem to work. but if I short the center pin and the top left pin (flash upside down facing me) the flash fires. I just don't know how I get this all to work with the CTR-201P

Careful with those older flash units. They may have a trigger voltage too high for the CTR's to handle. I thought I could use my old film body flash with them but I double checked with the vendor beforehand and they said NO!
They make converters to use with the older flash units but they are pricey. You can buy cheap flash units for a few bucks more...

The Canon 277T has low sync Voltage, according to this citation it is less than 5 Volts.

If you cannot get the flash to fire by shoring the center and side rail contact, the radio slave receiver will never work.
This is what the receiver does, short the center and side rail contacts (at the appropriate time).

I found a lose connection in one lead i can now fire by shoring the rail and center pin however the trigger still will not fire the flash. :-(
