Hi guys and gals,
Spent the day out at Queensland Raceway last wednesday, a trackday with probably the highest level time attack cars in QLD was held as part of Paul Ruzic's Time Attack series. The caliber of cars was crazy, including Australias fastest R34 GTR driven by Mark Berry, Cameron Dyals Evo 8MR and quite a few other fast machines including a GT3 RSR, GT2 and a supercharged M3.
Fantastic driving and perfect photo weather (overcast) made for a great day.
Took me about a week of processing a few hours every day, result is about 200 odd shots on our website of the day from me, Nige has at least that many as well, here are my favourite images from the day, took me a fair while to cull them down to 25 shots (as for most forums) and then again down to 8 for POTN.
These are my pick out of the bunch so hard to choose though. C&C appreciated.

Just came back to this thread to see all the replies, great you guys liked them, we actually had Yokohama approach us about buying some of the shots of the GTR after seeing them so that's cool.
I was also hoping for some critique on what I could actually improve on these shots, it has been suggested by a friend of mine that our shots are slightly 'overprocessed', however that's the style we are going for to stand out among the crowd somehow, our bred and butter in photography at the moment is also large size photographic and canvas prints and the style we have seems to really work well with that and appeal to customers, so I am not sure if I should take the processing back a notch or not?

#4 is actually my desktop background at the moment. These were all shot on a 5D Mark II / 100-400L combo. Does the job for me.

Dude thats sweet cause im going to get the 100-400 since i already have the 24-105 its better instead of getting 70-200 and doesnt cover that much range... I LOVE automotive photography im hugely into it so i guess the 100-400 would do a better job then the 70-200....I want to post some pictures on here to show some of mines but i dontknow how lol

Yeah would definitely go the 100-400L over the 70-200 for motorsport, I shoot regularly with the 70-200 F/2.8IS and will pick the 100-400 for track in 95% of situations. Only dramas that I have with it is that is seems to be slow to backfocus and cars moving at speed away from you are damn near impossible to get in focus. Might just be mine though.
Posting images, on here just click the little image with the mounatain in the reply box, it'll bring up the little bit of code and you just add your webaddress where your image is hosted including http:// and you'll be done.

but i do mostly Stills so that means the 24-105 or the 17-40 is ALWAYS on my camera i like the 16-35 but i heard the 17-40 was more sharper...but yeahh i take some REALLY close shots with the 17-40 like im on the track and 6 feet away from a moving car going 90+ MPH lol yeahs its dangerous but its worth it

a very nice series. very sharp focus on the cars, and nice action captures. The only PP part that I don't care for is the vignetting on the last few, outside of that, they are spot on.

Although they are what most people would consider overprocessed, I personally don’t think that’s a bad thing. It certainly works for the above photos, The GTR with the flame as well as the one with the overcooked brakes are both fantastic shots with what processing you have done to them, and I think they would look awesome as big print on a wall or double truck in a magazine spread. I personally think it’s extremely important to have a unique style, especially in such an over saturated market. Keep it up, I think they look awesome.

70-200 just took a backseat, I want a 100-400mm now!
