Hi everyone,

I'm off for a short-break to the Lake District at the end of the month. Specifically, I'm staying in Penrith.

Just interested to hear from anyone who may live nearby, or has visited before, and can suggest some good locations for photos.

Thanks!

:)

If you get the weather then Helvellyn via striding edge and then back down via swirrel edge and Catstye Cam is stunning. I've done it several times. Unfortunately though the last time I went up it was a complete white out at the top and blowing a gale.

In good weather it is fairly easy but unless you are an experienced walker I wouldn't risk it bad weather

If you want to stay at ground level and get some pics of a lake, then Buttermere and Crummock Water are worth a visit.

Its about a 6-7 mile to walk around each one, lovely scenery.
