I'm not too sure this would be a contest, but I ran accross this the other day. Interesting social gathering idea for photographers, with a world-wide connection aspect . . .

When it comes to photography contests, read the fine print carefully before entering. Many, but not all, contests require the photographer to give up rights to any and all images entered. They are just a ploy to gain the rights to images without having to pay for them.

Well, Everlasting Summer Moments Photo Contest (http://www.readyphotosite.com/blog/photo-contests/everlasting-summer-moments-photo-contest/) was asking photographers to give up their rights at first which provoked a discussion at one of the forums. Shortly after that, they changed the conditions, and now the authors retain the rights to the works they submit.

To be honest, I was gonna participate any way, but apparently professional photographers are more sensitive to their copyrights than amateurs like me. Yet, now that they've chnaged the rules, it's even better :D
