Hey guys. I was looking for a holster to carry my camera on a day to day basis. Criteria: Well padded, wearable on a belt, no bigger than necessary, pockets for cards, batteries etc. I eventually settled on the Tamrac Tamrac Pro Digital Zoom 5 (5265). On the Tamrac website they state that Prosumer cameras such as the EOS 40D will fit with a 5" lens. In practice I believe you could fit a lens upto 6.5" long in comfortably (7" would make closing the lid tight). The bag feels very high quality, the top both zips and clips closed, probably day to day I would just clip it closed but in cities etc. i might be tempted to zip it. The pockets seem great and have lots of room for cards, batteries & other stuff.

The images:

1. The Holster

2. The Side. (The clips for holding the strap on are very high quality & stiff)

5. The clip detail (This could probably be better/stronger/adjustable, but its really fine)

6. Top Zip Detail (This is a nice touch, and the top cover means that in rain, no water should run into the main compartment, more on this at the end)

7. Main (front) Pocket Detail (Red tag system for memory cards, though only 2 pockets)

The bag is meant to be water resistant i believe, i have waterproofed it using a spray but havent used it in the rain yet, so i will report back when i do.

Hope the review is useful

Pretty awesome! I keep saying I want a bag like that, just for my camera and lens but I believe the 5MDH is about as small as I want to go 'cause I know I'll always need more than one lens. Can't have just one!!!! Just like bags! :D
