Still trying to get a good workflow going (RAW).. but I liked these images from this evening. I don't know the ID, but the state is AZ for those who can help identify them exactly.

these are very nice. i bought a hummingbird feeder,and plants to attract them. this will light a fire under me to get it setup.Question. what shutter speed was used.

These were shot handheld with my 100-400L IS at a local mountain park. The 100-400L rules the world. I had a hummingbird feeder, and other birds literally sabotaged it. The stole the little flower feeder parts, and eventually pecked a hole at the top, which ruined it (the liquid was held in by a vacuum). I need to get another one too. :D

They're both good, but that second one...wow. I've been trying to capture some out at our feeder but haven't had great results. Hope I get at least one that looks as good as yours.

I LIKE these! Capturing a Humming Bird in the wild like this is Nature Photography at it's BEST, IMHO. :D

In Arizona, and starting from the photos, I would guess Costa's Hummingbird, Calypte costae. If you can get more of a back view on it, identification may improve.
