Just wanted to introduce myself; my name is Charlie and I've been browsing through all the information here over the past several months now. This is my first post and I just wanted to say hello to everyone on this great forum. Just picked up a Canon 10D this morning from a church member of mine, and along with a Sigma and Tamron lenses (that were purchased 2 weeks ago, prior to me deciding what camera to purchase) I managed to snap off about 500 pictures today. Nothing spectacular to write about, just trying to get the hang of things.

Anyways, again, just wanted to say hello to all.

Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on the camera purchase. The 10D is a fine camera and sill serve you well. (ask the man who's owned a couple of 'em.)

I hope we'll hear more from you.

Believe me, you'll be hearing alot from me; I've got so many questions with, not only the camera, but with Photoshop as well. I began my camera experience with a Nikon FE about 20 years ago, then gradually got into digital photography when I purchased an Olympus C3000, then a D-725, D-560, D-565, D-580, D-585, a Canon S1 IS, A95, and now this EOS. I was tempted to purchase a 20D, but didn't think I'd need all the bells and whistles at this point in time. I imagine if/when I decide to upgrade, alot of the accessories that I'll purchase for the 10D, will also work on the 20D (I hope). Anyways, thanks for the welcome.

Being new myself, I can tell you that you feel welcome right away. It's a great gang here. So warm welcome from one newbie to another. :)

Thanks again for the warm welcome ladies and gents. I am already experiencing some issues with one of my lenses that I purchased for my camera; an Error 99. I've already spoken with several of my friends who have had this issue and was told to download the latest firmware to update my camera. Is there a way to undo an update if things go awry?
