Looking at the EXIF, I can offer a few things to try next time...

For example, in #2, you have f/7.1 at 155mm. Try a wider aperture (f/4 to f/5.6) and zoom in tighter... this will blur and remove a lot of the cluttered background. Shutter speed is fine at 1/1000" and ISO 400.

Interesting to see you're using M mode... your exposures look fine. But give Av mode a shot.
