Alright, so I have a 5D2 with a 70-200 f2.8 lens that I need to find a bag for. I don't want a top loading bag because I'd have to take off the lens every time I put it in the bag. I want a backpack that doesn't shout, "look, I'm probably holding a bunch of expensive camera equipment!"

My second option is to just use my laptop backpack which has more than enough room for camera/lens. Is there a good way to get enough padding in a non-camera bag?

Thanks for the help!

Are you looking for a bag to hold only the 5d and lens?

Depends what other kit you want to carry. My LowePro Nova5 will carry my gripped 30D with 70-200 OR 100-400 fitted if the internal dividers are arranged correctly. But if I want to carry both those lenses and my 24-70, then it's not possible.

As far as custom made internal dividers are concerned, I've made and converted many. They are simple 1/4 inch closed cell foam, some hard wearing material and velcro.

I am not sure I understand, why would you need to remove the lens when placing the camera/lens back in a toploader?

Being a Domke fan I always recommend the F2 for this combo. Top loading and all fits everything just fine with much room to spare.

Does anyone have pics of an F-2 being worn by an actual person? I've not been able to find any.

You may want to consider the Tamrac Pro 5. Yes, it's a toploader, but it holds my gripped 50D + 70-200 2.8IS with room for my 17-55.

Just a thought.
