If i photograph someone under age(13 in this case), they sign a release. When they turn 18, does that void the release?

If you photograph someone under 18, then the guardian signs the release. I'm not sure on if it voids, you'll have to take a look at waht is written in the release, are you using a generic one or have you written your own? I would expect that if you have a pro generic one this would be covered in it in small print of some kind.

As harroz said, a minor is not legally capable of entering into a contract (which is what a model release is).
Your release would never be valid to begin with, so it won't matter what happens when they turn 18.

If they are under age, they are not legally capable of signing such a release. in order to get a release for a minor, you will want to have a contract drawn space for said minor to fill out personal information (name, address, date, phone, ect)
in that same form you will need to have a section for a parent or guardian and their respective personal information if different. if the parent signs the release regardless of what the child wants, the contract is legally binding.
when the minor turns 18, i beleive that in some states, the subject (previously the minor) is able to opt out of of said contract, but the chances that the kid will remember a single contract 5 years later is slim.
