NEWBIE, so be nice...
On my new D30, when I remove the Compact Flash, the numbering is incremented. Ok, the camera is set to "continuous" so I expect the suffix numbers ###-0001 thru ###-9999, fine. Why does it increment the prefix?
Hypothetically, If I take ten photos, and CF removal and load to PC via CF reader (not D30 USB).
001-1110 then 002-1120 and 003-1130...
On my Mavica, if you leave the last photo on the memory card, it would count up from there. This has a prefix that increments, even if I leave the last photo still on the CF.
