So I ordered the Matthews "afflac" clamp (here (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/282226-REG/Matthews_B429500_Afflac_Duckbill_Clamp.html)) and now that I have it I just can't figure out what it is that I'm missing in order to secure it to a clamp or lightstand. I've been staring at my variety of superclamps and can't find a viable way to secure the clamp anywhere.

What am I missing/not thinking of?

It's not intended to mount to a superclamp or stand. If that's what you want then I think you want something like this:

Thanks Robert.

so what IS the afflac clamp intended for? How would one attach it to anything?

Am i to just stick the long end into a griphead?

Yep....that's the ticket. Can't believe I never thought of that, given that'd probably be my preference for how it'd be used.

I think I've been processing photos from yesterday's shoot for WAY too long.

Hi Jeff,

Is that larger diameter section that comes off the end of the clamp 5/8"? It's hard to tell from the picture. Is that the part that you're saying will be held firmly by the grip head?

I can relate. I know that feeling all too well. :D

looks more like 3/8"...but there's a hole in my avenger gripheads that fit it perfectly.

Are the standard arms for grip heads 3/8" or 5/8"? Maybe I need to step away from the computer myself.. lololol

I believe standard is 5/8", however there are quite a few different sizes of holes on a griphead. It's just that 95% of the time, I'm using a standard 5/8" pin/insert so the difference in size is what threw me.
