Hi all

First of all yes I know I should be shooting in RAW mode, but at times I am a bit of a lazee photographer and would like to use the convenience of shooting in JPEG mode. The trouble is with the 20D the standard Large Fine setting applies some vary heavy compressing levels its at about 6 on the jpeg scale of 1 to 12. Is their any secret setting to lower the compressing level to 12.

Thanks for any help

Paul

I'm curious as to how you came up with that measurement ....

The actual number was from someone in this forum.

The practical side is that if I shoot in Large fine jpeg the 8 meg files produced are about 3.5 meg, If I use large fine on my old 5meg Olympus E20 the files are 4.5 to 5 meg so obviously the canon is applying a much higher compression level.
