Heading to Colorado Springs and a photo op. at the Garden of the Gods. Anyone have a recommendation on the best lens? My choices are 12-24, 24-70 and 70-200. I'll take all three on vacation but would hate to carry all three plus the tripod while hiking around the G of the Gods. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Also, morning or evening....which is best?
Thanks,
Jeff M.

I recently just came back from my Colorado Springs vacation and all I used was my Tokina 11-16. I had no need for zoom lens.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know how close you can get to the rock formations. Guess I'll start out with the 12-24 attached.

Jeff,
You can drive throughout the park. At worst, you'll be maybe 300 yards from your car, and that's if you try. At any rate, your wide angle will be a fantastic lens for GoG.

It's been a few years....but there are places to go 'long' at G of the G. But I agree -- you you'll probably find that 80%+ of your shots are with your Tokina 12-24.
