I always used photomatix for my hdr before, however I gave cs4 another shot. I love it. The pictures look real and not so tone mapped as they do in photomatix. I recently shot a restaurant and the pictures came out great thanks to cs4

Well the pic I had taken was for a magazine.......can't show it until its puiblished. But at first I ran it through photomatix and it looked horrible. Ill take abother shot for an example

CS3 also has a nice HDR option, but the reason I like programs like Photomatix is precisely because it can make those over the top images, or, more normal renders if you want. I can't figure out how CS3 or 4 could do the more extreme views that Photomatix can do by accident. ;)

here are the pics, while it may not look like a great pic or pics. i had to take these to show the interior of the restaurant but hdr saved me! and cs4 has a great natural look about it

I like the photos. I would never have guessed that are HDR. Could you post a before shot?

i dont think i have anymore :( let me see!

lightroom can still show the image but i dont have the file

so here you can see what the camera thinks is exposed correctly

you can see its not......the back window is all blown out!

here you can see again, this is teh image the camera thinks is exposed correctly. The chairs have a lot of shadows and their details are lost

so as you can see for me hdr saved me. In photomatix they just looked awful though. However i still use it :)
