Hmmm...E3?

So, I really am tryin my best to get things set up so that I can go to E3 next year. Thing is, I'm contemplating what camera I should try to take to something like this. Of course, I would prefer my DSLR for versatility's sake. But, I have to keep in mind that I'll be carrying my camera around for 8 to 9 hours per day for three days straight. My DSLR + Lens + Battery Grip + Two Batteries + 420EX + 4 AA Batteries would get VERY VERY heavy throughout the day. I'm sure of that.

For those that have done something like this...is carrying around a DSLR pretty tough but doable? Or would you recommend a Prosumer level P&S for something like this?
