View Full Version : Dual Monitor Calibration Issue

I have Dual Samsung 2343BWX's on a ATI 4870 When I mirror my monitors the colors match and also are matched to my calibrated Samsung 244T. However when I extend my desktop Monitor 1 runs warmer than monitor 2. When I drag my Lightroom over 50% it changes the coloring of monitor 1 to the monitor 2 settings and vice versa.

Hardware issue is ruled out since mirroring the monitors yields identical results. It's only when running extended desktops DVI 1 is set warmer than DVI 2. Settings for the DVI channels are identical as well.

Any thoughts?

Yeah, I have this problem ... be nice to have an easy fix. I think they both need a different profile, but too busy to sort it out.

Similar issues with my Samsung 2433s on an NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT. Even with identical calibration, there is a shift from one monitor to the other.

Something like coloreyes will calibrate both monitors with different profiles. It'll use whatever device you have to calibrate with as well.

That looks a good option for some ... personally, I can work on my favoured calibrated monitor and put tools and image browser on the other, so I'd like a fix but not if it costs too much ;-)

At least I'm not the only one with this problem... The funny thing is when I drag my ligthroom window over 50% to eitherside the calibration from one monitor will follow it to the other. I tried setting the color temps of the warmer monitor to match my DVI 2 (seems to be correct as it matches the color profile of my calibrated 244T) but it's hard to get it "just right".

Raikyn I'll try that out!!

Thanks guys for letting sharing, now I know this isn't an isolated issue. I wonder if it's GPU based?

Here's a image of my interesting problem. A bit saturated to show what I mean... I still don't understand why moving the window in lightroom will match the profile.

You, busy? Doing what, sitting on your big round duff (or is that Jakey?) watching TV on your new flat screen?

I've got the same issue, but I figure mine is a result of two different monitors, one a Dell Ultrasharp 24" and the other an Apple Cinema Display 23".

That's why I want to dump both to get a new 30"

I have a very important job, such that normally I'd only speak to people like you through my PA, and even then you'd get the brush off. Unfortunately, she has swine flu. I am also having to switch channels myself as a result. I may get a temp in tomorrow.
