So taking a proactive role on this lazy Sunday, I got to doing some cleaning and found some great stuff that I am going to sell on eBay and I am pretty sure I can get $175 for all of it. So, I am going to put it towards my camera hobby. Right now I'm thinking:

Phottix Grip w/2 batteries $85
Crumpler 6MDH $95-100 (since my current bag won't hold a gripped 30D)

I don't have a tripod yet, and have thought about considering that, but I just don't know. Looking at my signature, I have ok lenses for how much of a beginner I am, but give me your thoughts! I know you all like to spend other people's money! haha

If you're shooting well and you're okay with saving, I'd rather you save to get a real good lens that you want. Who knows? You might need that $175 soon for a non-camera-related purchase.

$175 is nothing much to make a whole suggestions about.
Just get the grip and the Crumpler bag and that is it, you will love the grip ( I have one on my 20D and love it)
and the bag will be very useful ( I also have a Crumpler 7 MDH, love it too).

Note: You did not mention if you have a speedlite flash or not.. if you don't have a flash, you could get a Nissin Di622 or so
which has an ETTL/II support, for about $120, better than on board flash.

With a projected budget of $175, take the money and build on it until you have enough to purchase a good tripod.

skip the grip then decide which one you need most at the moment, the bag or a tripod.

Save it. Seriously, who spends money that fast? I got a refund check for $3700 but I'm saving most and paying off a few bills. It's a time to save!!!

If anything, what the above have said. At least save for something decent.

Some people do that lol.

I checked my bank account this morning an it turns out I blew $3000 yesterday on.... I'm not quite sure what, to be honest. Just random things -- Nothing really to show for it, though.

When you have money to spend, that you wont miss, on nothing in particular, you can usually spend it quite easily.

Oh yeah! I know that. I went out to do an engagement shoot on Saturday. While I should have made money, even with the drive, I somehow spent $100, around there at least, on my girlfriend and I as we had breakfast, lunch, then stopped at the outlets in Orlando. The dangers of driving through Orlando, ugh.

Suggestion: leave the gf behind next time :)

Yeah, but she's learning to shoot and she's doing pretty well. I spoil her, it's my fault. :D

Only other option: omit Orlando.

^Precisely!!! :D

Like I said, I just got a lot of money but I'm paying bills. Now, I will buy some Busch Gardens tickets but that's awesomely fun for a year! Everyone knows I love bags! Check my reviews, but to spend it all on a bag...at least a lens will keep you happy for a good awhile.
