This game is to help those of us who are trying to learn new tricks when it comes to editing.

Here's the breakdown of the game. I will post a picture that I choose, resized to exactly 1024 pixels maximum on the long side. Outside of being resized it has to be unedited...meaning no adjustments to any levels, it has to look like it did as it came out of the camera.

The game will last 72hrs and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at.

The participants must have their "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, some entrants are a little vague on this point, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.

You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged - all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only.

Also, please keep all comments, be they positive or negative, to yourself until after the game has ended.

If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read "Before & After #204".

This is all about having fun so have at it!!!

This round will end Wednesday 22nd July 11PM GMT. (OK it's 1 hour short!):)

I'll assist in the destruction ;)

CS2 - photo, layers, curves x's 2, brightness/ contrast, channel mixer, lots of gamma/exposure, shadow/highlight, cloning out areas of destruction, moving of a tower into new layer as it has toppeled and broken in the blast, burning of buildings and towers & reflection blast added in water ( all burning effects pretty much lost once I decided I wanted to go the extra step and invert inside the scope)
blast layer, steps taken much the same as photo to make it matchey matchey
scope layer, I was pleased with the result, however, decided to take it a step further and invert inside the scope for fun.
Cropped photo, added large vingette, boom.

Since the first two went a bit dark - I decided to be the glass is half full person:

CS3 - photo, layers, brightness/contrast, added sky, blended sky, added surf - blended surf, shadow highlight, cloned out a few things, added name on tower - did a some color mods - saved and ran the image through a little hdr processing --

Well, it's gone 11pm GMT and I want to go to bed!

Thanks for the entries, I hate this bit!:(

All were good for different reasons....

Todd Lambert, loved the green clouds but some of the mud needed smoothing more.

Lore, nice touch with the scope/invert. Makes it jump out at you!

stathunter, liked the HDR look and the shoreline but the red and white boat on the left kept catching my eye and telling me something was wrong.

The winner this round is......Lore!
Good luck everyone with the next round, God I hate judging!:(

Over to you Lore!:)

Is it in Germany?

Is it in Belgium?

Is it in France?
