Well, My wife is getting ready to compete in a big figure class show this weekend. Typically I have been shooting her on stage with my Tamron 28-75, which does a nice job, but does not quite have the reach to really frame the women well. Recently she saw Drisley's awesome Fitness/Figure pictures and of course loved the quality. Foolishly she asked what lens I would need to get to obtain similar results. I explained he uses primes, but someday I had hoped to get a longer zoom so I could get group shots as well as tight close ups. For grins I tossed out the 70-200 2.8 IS L as consideration. To my complete shock, she said OK!! Just a little while ago she asked for an e-mail with a link to BH and the lens. Hopefully it will get ordered today!!!! I will be very stoked!!! and after seeing Belmondo's tests for achieving 400mm, I can not wait to get a Canon 2x converter.......someday. Little does she know the madness just won't stop there.

Nat,

that's great news :D

Your wife is not only attractive and fit, but also generous!
Still, I'd go for the 1.4 converter instead of the 2.0 ...

Best regards,
Andy

Haha! Again, a proof of how much our wives are self-infatuated!

I bet that if you had considered buying this lens to shoot pictures of some of your personal "male" activities or hobbies, she'd had said "no"!

I love wives in general and mine especially...

Thanks!!! I ultimately would like both, but am content to wait untill I can get either. Most likely the 1.4 will be first. I have been biding my time waiting for some new lens. I was going to ask for the 17-40, but am really stoked to replace my mistake (55-200 p.o.s.)
