alright.

I narrowed it down to the Sigma 100-300 f4 or the Canon 70-200 f4 with the 1.4 extender. same price at BH.

Will be shooting outdoors mostly with good light, handheld 70% of the time. Some wildlife, landscapes, and a ton of my 1 year old playing.

Thanks for the input.

Don't have any of the lenses, but have pondered both as I have a similar acquisition somewhere in my near future.

- Both are supposed to be great lenses, you will have to search the forum a bit for info on the Sigma (but there are some threads)
- The Sigma is big and heavy, if you plan to handhold it for some time, consider that
- The Canon combination will be only f/5.6 at 300
- The Canon will most likely hold its value better
- Canon L lenses are supposed to be tack sharp wide open, don't know about the Sigma.

Best regards,
Andy

Sadly there are no online comparisons between the canon and sigma -let alone a comparison with a TC on the canon.
It would be awsome to find out more because the sigma is a seriously viable allternative to the 70-200/4L
