I seem to have caught the "L" Fever.

Today the courier delivered a Canon 100 -400 f4.5-5.6L an awesome looking lens. Can't wait to get out and use it. :)

If I place it beside my 70-200 f2.8L in my camera bag any chance I will wake up and find a 16-35 f2.8L has magically appeared as well?

If you can make them multiply like that, please let us all know. Anyway congrats on the new lens. My first "L" is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday!!!

in my case I had a 16-35/2.8L and a 100-400L IS together and they seem to have sprouted a 70-200/2.8L IS, which makes more sense get a little of both parents genes. My 28-135 and 75-300 IS, sprouted a 50/1.4 (recessive genes I think)

You know I was just thinking that I do tend to think of my 16-35 as more feminine and my 100-400 as more masculine, with my 70-200 kind of nuetral. Probably because my wide lens gets up close and personal and like people and my long lens standoff and looks at the birds a lot 8)

in my case putting the 100-400L IS and the 70-200 2.8L together in my bag resulted in the 17-40L :D

have lots of fun with the lens;)

Got that darn flu too... today the 80-200/2.8 L arrived. SCHWEEEEET!!!!!!! Was a bit too dark to play with outdoors, but I took some good indoors pictures with it using the flash. I could even see the dirt on my husbands glasses (told him to clean them after I saw the pictures). :D

Stooge. If your "L" has anymore babies let me know and maybe I'll just adopt one from you. I would just hate to see a fellow member go through that agony alone :-) Congrats on the new lense. I have been prewarned about the "Fever" LOL

LOL!

I just had to take out my Coolpix 5700 to shoot the 350D with the big lens. Let me tell you, the Coolpix felt so "dinky" in my hand it wasn't even funny. And boy did it take long to find focus. Talk about getting used to DSLR fast. I will go nuts if I have to send my 350D in for repair or something and have to use my Coolpix for a longer time!

Ok, here's some pictures of my new "love" 80-200/2.8 L

Even the 350D looks dinky with that lens... maybe I should get a battery grip, just to look cooler. :D

So if I put my 100-400 L with my new 100 f2.8 macro together in my bag, will a 17-40 L be the new baby?

Congrats on the lens, you'll love it!

You guys crack me up!! :D

Oh yeah, I do need a work out for sure. I also need to re-learn my technique to hold a big lens. Last time I was 20 years younger and more fit.

Anyone got a good tip for "Heavy L Lens Workout"?

Forget 12 oz curls, go straight for the 2 L German beer mugs. With beer in them of course. That's about the same weight as that lens if not more. Lets see here, mug = 12oz and 2 L beer is about 3.6lbs. Ya I think you are ahead of the lens weight. Practice pratice.

CyberPet

So, will I get to drink the beer as a reward after I've done 3 sets of curlz?? (or does that sort of counter the idea, but then again, with a beer gut, I'd have something to rest my arms on to steady the camera). :D

You say size doesn't matter, but does it make you smile when you get your big one out to play? ;)

Surely it must make your husband just a little bit jealous?

I get to join the L club this week.....can't wait 70-200 L on order :D

Did you put in the bag an MP3 player? You have to get the L's in the mood first, dummy.

Hubby is just happy he get to play with my small coolpixes. I guess he likes things small. Bah!

Looking for tripod-mounts now..... probably need one, until I've worked up my strenght with those 2 litre beer mugs. :D
