I have the Speedlite 220ex, which I bought with my original canon rebel years ago (print version). I was looking at the back of it and was wondering what the "E-TTL" mark means as well as what does the other button do - the button on the top right that has the "H" to it's left with the flash symbol on it.

Sorry for the dumb @$$ question, just curious is all. Thanks.

E-TTL stands for Evaluative Through The Lens, and refers to the type of metering used with ex series flashes. Basically the camera can do things like cut the flash off once it detect enough light return, and use a preflash to estimate main flash strength.

As for the H thing, sorry, no clue.

"H" and the flash symbol means high speed flash sync mode.

What is an original canon rebel (print version)?

Sorry...maybe I have my terminology screwed up. I bought the first Rebel that Canon ever produced - the film version ways back when Andre Aggassi was pumping the product big time.
