I just stopped by a local camera shop and they let me try out the Tamron 17-35/f2.8, am I just naive or am I correct to say this lens is breath taking? I snapped 3 shots and I'm in love. But is it just my lack of experience?

No, you are not naive. It is a great lens.

Why not?
Canon is not the end all in lenses at this price.
The Tamron is a fast sharp optiion to the Canon's expensive equivelent.
It's the glass ,not the name.

Great reviews, built like a tank, didn't need super wide, wanted something that overlapped nicely with my Tamron 28-75mm and .... a fantastic Buy Now price on ebay

Been very happy with it. I've experimented and bought and sold a lot of stuff over the last few months but from the first time I put it on the camera I knew this one would be a long term keeper.
