I'd suggest getting whatever will make you the most money. That way you can earn money for the other lenses faster.

Looks like you're about to make the jump from consumer to semi-pro/pro gear, kinda expensive eh? I think you need to weigh up which you'd use more, which would make you the most money, and which would add something you don't have yet. I know it's just like saying "work it out yourself", but no-one can make the choice for you. Thoughts:
- the 24-70 would give you a great quality lens that you would probably use the most often. Also consider the Tamron 28-75, which is meant to be comparable in quality but a lot cheaper and lighter.
- The 100-400 would be great for wildlife
- The 70-200 IS would be a great toy ;) (mine turns up today :) )
- The 20D is MUCH faster to use than the 300D, i'm really happy I upgraded myself.

good point scraggles.......i thought about that also.
I know tim but it is just so hard:confused:
ok what about this.........
20D and the Tamron 28-75
since people is what i do the most of and is gonna make me money and they cost less than the 70-200mm 2.8 IS.
That would give me a backup Body and a good fast lens for weddings and portraits.

I'm going to be picking up a 20D and 24-70mm 2.8L in the next few weeks here, so I'm still a bit biased. :)

Yeah, get the 20D. At least have something to play with for a while. Don't put off getting the camera until you have money for both. If you get the camera from BuyDig, shipping will be free, so it's not like you have to pay double on shipping. Chances are, wherever you get the lens, shipping will be free on that too so why not just get it and we can have a little contest to see who can shoot better pictures. :) j/k

question is, do you need the 28-75? once you get the 24-70L do you really think you'll touch the 28-75? It's your money, but I wouldn't waste it if I was in your position.

but if the 28-75 is as good as the 24-70 then i want buy the 24-70

You definitely don't need both the 28-75 and the 24-70L. That's almost the identical focal length. Now you could buy the 28-75 and then sell it if you want to get a 24-70 but keeping both lenses would be serious overlap.
There are just too many lenses out there to have two so close to one another.
