Hello, I posted a post about backround help. I need to know if anyone can tell me if elements 2.0 has layer masking?

Not out of the box but you can download free plugins that add the functionality, along with others such as "curves". Check these PSE 3 sites:

http://www.earthboundlight.com/phot...nts-curves.html (http://www.earthboundlight.com/phototips/photoshop-elements-curves.html)
http://www.earthboundlight.com/phot...management.html (http://www.earthboundlight.com/phototips/elements-color-management.html)
I use them all without problems.

There is also a "cheat" that allows you to hijack a levels layer and use it as a layer mask. I will look for it when I get a minute but I have to go now. You might search this forum or the PSE forums at the Adobe site to see if you can find reference to it. I think it is easy to do once you get the steps. Good luck.
