Heh hey Dan! Congrats!
Well, don't judge too early. Give the lens time to perform. Spend some quality weekends with the lens, and find out its sweet spot. Mine did surprise me a few times.
Anywayz, selling it won't even get u 1/3 to 70-200f4L. Might as well make the best out of it, right?;)

The shots above are pretty good IMHO.

Thanks Rebel

Found a place today were I can get the 70-200mm f/4 delivered for $875 Can.
including taxes ( take note Canadians, thats $829 Can. )
That is a good price for up here, man I got the itch!!
Actually this lense does not seem to bad! The guy wrapped it in newspaper and sent it to me in a shoe box ( packaging could have been a little better ) but the lense is in excellent shape!!
I know what you meen it's a lot more money but this site is worse than 2 foot itis
with boats..LOL
BTW...you have been posting some great picks, keep up the good work. Let me know when your ready to buy that lense and I will keep my eyes open for you!!

LOL! I know what u mean (this site).
Thanks for the compliment. I can't wait to see the shots come out from your 100-300mm.
I don't mean u need one but if u need any lens test from me, or have any question about the lens, i'm more than happy to help.

I really like #1. Cute kid too, whoever she is. I know what you mean about having the "itch". I bought my Powershot S1 about six months ago, and just ordered my 20D today!!! "Scratch, scratch"!!!

I made the same mistake!!! baught a G6 in January and the 350XT in March.
Damn...I could have had a 20D and know I can't get much for the G6 so my wife wanted it!! Pretty well cover the cost of the 70-200mmf4.

And I thaught woodworking was a expensive hobby!!! LOL

Congrats Clarky! Like cfcReb said. There is a sweet spot and its not normally at max AV. As well @ 300mm you need to be snapping at a min of 1/300 to get the sharpest shots.

Dan: Is that how much a 70-200mm normally is? I'm looking at a used one that is the exact lens for $250? I've also seen 3 on ebay for roughly the same. I'm confused?

A 70-200mm L is going on Ebay for well over $500, if you can buy one for $250
I suggest you do so and if you don't want it please let me know because I will!!
The lense I purchased 100-300mm goes for up to $250.
Let me know!!

Will I get a sharper picture than this with the 70-200mm?

Dan

I quess the answer to this is "not really" if you are using the lens stopped down a couple of stops. If you are using it wide open then you might notice some difference - but probably not too much unless you are making big prints.
