I was putting together these shots last night
some of you may remember the two girls with the umbrella in the college grounds in the city a few weeks ago
(this url > )
http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=67494)

I didn't know I had another shot of the girl's faces .
even if it is at a little more distance I was glad to see both their faces in a shot

their legs fascinated me the most as they marched along together in the rain
http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

I left the raindrops out of this next shot
then I stitched a few together and wondered what anyone would think.
it is not real well done and I have a few different pictures here

I loved how the girls legs were in all the shots

the ground and buildings may vary in the 'stitched together' pictures
(being that they are not real well done)
but I was just trying to get a certain rhythm as to how they appeared
as they walked along
in ones and twos etc
I think I took four shots of them altogether on the day

I always love your posts Marie....your photos are always wonderful astute insights into other people's lives...but most of all (for me) your beautifully poetic titles.

Keep up the great work :-)

Wonderful, Marie. I really, really like #6. That has all the best features of the other shots, but the way you put them together really creates the impression that it's a whole group marching in unison.

Love it.

I love these! I managed to miss your first thread with them. Spending last week in a motel with a slow dialup connection, I got way behind on the messages here...

Very nice shots!

Even the rough stitches, are smoothing out , and looking really funky. What are you using to do that?

Lovely pics. You really do have a special eye for situations and personal lives. Congratulations. Honestly, I don't really like the stitches, IMHO the stitching lose that "natural" feeling the other pics have, but that's just me. I really love the rain effect on #2

Many thanks Wazza .

I had a few bluebell pictures stitched together from last year and was moving one around the Pbase site when I thought the girls legs ( like that )would make a good stitched picture
however the shading on the ground varies with some of the shots
as the girls were rounding a corner the light changed every move they made http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I'm thinking of the song 'every move she makes' now http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif
'Sting' sings it (I think)

I used photostudio 5.5
http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif I think it came with the canon camera
(the G2)
(lot of thinking with the 'I thinks' tonight)

thank you

Tom

lovely to know you enjoyed them Tom, especially a special picture out of the lot.
I was not sure which to post and knew they were not great but wanted to catch their legs as though moving along
I could hardly believe the girls kept them in step like that.
lotsa twins out walking http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Thank you very much Rob
I'm glad you said about the stitching.
and am glad you liked the 'rain look'
the umbrellas helped to make it look real.

it was raining a little (I was sheltering, how I got the shots ) but not raining enough to show up on the finished shot

it was the same day I got the shots of the other girls, just while I was sheltering. it was all a surprise when I saw the passing parade
so I quickly took out my camera

I was trying out the stitching just for fun as the legs were so much in tune thought the girls would look good in a 'stitched' set up all together
http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif I don't suppose I will ever get two people like that again

I loved the face on the near girl especially
she is like a doll .
they both were like living dolls
(Cliff Richard sings that song )

I was amazed Sandy
and how they stayed like that
if they had been told to do it, they would not have been able to , so wellhttp://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

they look real palshttp://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif
very happy together

I was better at the real kind of stitching
made all the curtainshttp://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Many thanks for saying which one Berto
well ,
I certainly wasn't thinking weirdy things about their legs http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gifhttp://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif like the impression I may have given
http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

but let me think

taking the shots

not really thinking too much about anything except weighing up the situation very fast when I first see it coming towards me
I'm definitely thinking composition, background , speed (their's and mine)
and focus properly, the direction they are heading into and getting the camera ready as quick as possible while my head is taking in this situation, all around.

sometimes background can't be avoided and we have to take all in or the shot would be lost
but when the background is not so bad it's great
if it all comes together.

I enjoy people a lot and love to capture some who look special
(to me)

but their legs moving in unison was just terrific , with their nice outfits how they were crammed (cuddled) together under the umbrella.
I loved them . their look all over was lovely

Only seeing these now, they look great together and the stritches are quite good considering that was not what you were planning when you took them. And the girls have no idea they were the focus of attention, two people deep in conversation usually walk in step. Is that Trinity College?

you are right on both counts http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I had no intention of stitching the pictures together at the time
and it's Trinity College alright
(I was born in Dublin)

they were nice looking girls, and seemed to be having fun even though it was raining
