I have a CF writer and tried to copy edited jpegs back onto the CF card so I can use the S230 to view them on a TV. The jpegs that I am copying have been edited on Photoshop. However, when I try looking at these jpegs in the camera, I get the "imcompatible Jpegs" error. Has anyone tried to do this before? Please help!

Once you've alterred the EXIF info from an image by editing it, it seems that the camera no longer recognizes it as its own. I haven't heard of a workaround so that you can actually view the edited images on the camera.

Not sure about the SD230 but the S230 I had done this many times. I sometimes get lazy and use the camera for demonstration instead of a projector. Just make sure the saved file is not too large. Best if less than original size. Also, there are several folders that you should keep intact. the JPG files must sit under DCIM and CANON123 or whatever number.
Then there is another directory you need to create CANONMSC.

Thanks for the reply. I have the S230 also (SD230 was a typo). Do you edit any of the pictures first before you copy back onto the CF card? I use Photoshop to edit and it gives me the incompatible jpeg message. I will try it again saving it as a smaller file although I am not sure why this would make any difference.

I tend to stay away using photoshop if saving back onto the camera because it embeds huge info within the data. An example, if I need to insert text and rotate and crop the image, you can use something like microsoft image (like paint) or faxviewer that comes with XP. Just copy back onto the directory and you can display it. It MUST sit under the directory. Caution when using filenumbering because it resets the internal counter. The filename must proceed something like... IMG_0001.jpg... etc... you cannot have filename such as ted's Vacation.jpg.

Thank you. Let me try your suggestions. I may be screwing up with my file names!
