In its category, the A95 is one of the best. Run a search in google and you'll find extremely good reviews. As far as battery life goes, with a good set of 2300 mah NMH rechargable batteries, you're good for, say...between 200 and 400 pictures, depending on how often you're using the flash and the LCD.

Thinking about an A95 for the wife
Sounds like a fair trade :-) :-) :-).
The battery life on the A75 is excellent..so I'm assuming it should be similar for the A95. I have two sets of rechargable batteries for the A75 and have never had to use the spare set yet.

You won'tgo wrong with the A95. Batteries are AA, so if your NiMH ones run out of juice (unlikely) you can just pick up some anywhere. A great handy camera. Not exactly a "deck of cards' sized camera, but small too.

The A95 is a nice little PNS camera for the money. I got one for my 13 yr old daughter and she has a blast shooting anything and everything...from spiders crawling on the carpet, to just plain annoying her younger brother. She's averaging about 500 pictures on NiMH batteries.

I'm glad somebody made the joke, the set up for it was perfect.
