Any idea's on how to cover the 16mm (20D) angle. Shoot inside of homes and the lens is great but getting flash coverage.......however small, would be helpfull.

Multiple flash units, all synchronized. That's what the Canon wireless flash system is all about.

Use the pull-out lens on the 550. It''ll cover 17 mm full frame (spec's just a little short, but try it and see if there's enough spill).

Or shoot with available light.

There's a new sheriff in town and his name is Merge to High Dynamic Range and he lives inside Photoshop CS2.

A big problem with interior architectual imaging is that you almost always blow out windows. The outside is way over-exposed compared to the inside. Unless you have TONS of strobes - and I'm not sure if the Canon wireless is enough - you will almost certainly blow out the windows light. The best in the business (Architectural Digest) consistently blow out the window light and their photographer's budgets would be in the "get it right no matter what" range.

What you do with the Merge to HDR is that you shoot a series of bracketed shots in RAW, and you go from too dark for anything, to too light for anything. Nine shots is nice, and OF COURSE this is from a tripod. You enter the Merge to HDR - a mini porgram within CS2 and let it go to work. It will combine the shots and create a 32 bit image that only looks so so. When you convert it back to 8 or 16 bit you get some controls (I mean what do you DO with a 32 bit image in 2005?) and that will let you mess with the image's overall look. Then the interior looks great and HEY no blown out windows. I bet the A/D photogs had one look at this merge to HDR and ordered some 1DS Mark II's and some tilt shift lenses on the spot!
