Hi everyone. My camera since 2006 has been a Canon Powershot SD20, which I consider to be my best camera. I will acknowledge that I consider that because of three things, that maybe other people, with more experience than I have, consider silly, but nevertheless, work for me:
1) Size: I can get it out of my pocket easily, and it will get around unnoticed.
2) Metal case: No plastic casing here, heavy and sturdy metal casing.
3) MADE IN JAPAN!!!

What happened? Shutter has gone on strike. I went to the service center, where they found out what I already knew from searching the internet, that the shutter is not working. They estimated the total cost of repairing about US$225. As much as I love this camera, I can`t help but think that for that price I can get something new.

My question is: If I wanted a camera which is SMALL, metal cased and preferably made in Japan, what can I get? I know that probably there is not something as functional as the SD20, but there must be something similar. If some members of these forums can shed some light on the subject, I would really appreciate it, thank you in advance.:D

Canon no longer produces that form factor, My wife has the SD1100 it's small and always produces a great image, it adds a optical zoom and Image stabilization to what the SD20 had, My SD's are a little larger
