I finally found something I wanted to bid on, and their site wigs out!

5 minutes left, & I can't place a bid, or go to any other auction...

Now the auction is over. :(

100mm f2 at $126!

Ugh...

Seems to be.

Must be a sign. Guess I'll go back to B&H's site, and keep on dreamin'. :(

Probably another DOS attack (man runs in throwing 5.25 inch disks around ;) ), like the one that hit Google on the weekend. Not much they can do about that.

Yes, you have to be careful. Some real idiots out there. I see it all the time. I think it's all about "winning". Sometimes I feel like sending a B&H link for a new one to the high bidder...

The 'Thrill of the chase'? See it alot on our local auction site here in NZ too, shame it doesn't seem to happen to things I am selling :(

Bugger!

I've seen it myself happen also, with the local trademe.co.nz site Pete mentions.

Especially the people with $1 reserves, and many auctions go crazy in the last 10minutes.

Yeah missed out on a 28-135IS that was a $1 reserve, was sitting around half retail 30 minutes before closure, then went over retail in the last 10 minutes!

I made heaps on a lounge suit the other day when it went nuts.
I started with a $1 reserve on a couch and two chairs I was told I should throw out.
On the last day it went from $50 to a final price of $190 :D :D

I couldn't trust a sale of E-bay, there are simply to many scams. But trademe is still young and growing and has yet to be infected to badly.

I've only sold 4 items myself on TradeMe

A couple of "photographers" have taken away the joy of putting on a decent photo and selling it. Particularly the guy with 950 images from a cheap digi cam on CD for about $15-25. I think he's sold many of them. And no bids for the genuine, higher quality prints.

You get what you pay for.

I'm still looking at selling on particular shot I have, all framed up. Just don't feel like putting it up, when only 10% of photos sell there. It's just not the right place for photos.

Yep, I have a whole pile of 'junk' downstairs, going to put it all up 'as is' for $1 reserves. Should be fun!

Should be fun!

Make sure you enable "Autoextend" I ended up glued to my PC untill midnight watching the price go up while I grinned and then yelled with glee!
