View Full Version : Got my first compliment - of sorts

I've started doing portrait photography as a hobby, taking advantage of the fact that many of the parents of students in my daughter's graduating class haven't had photos done yet. I've had almost a dozen sittings in the last week and a half.

Since I'm just starting out, I've been printing the results on my Epson R800 with Epson Premium Luster Paper and Epson Inks, though I've offered regular photographic prints, if desired.

One of my customers took one of my portraits in to WalMart to have a cake made with a transfer that they can make from a picture and apply to the cake's surface. The Walmart deli counter person indicated that they wouldn't do the transfer from the photo without a release from the photographer.

Pretty good, considering I haven't marked the prints on either the front or the back to indicate that they are copyrighted. (I'll do that eventually, but for now, this is mostly just friends). I am making a profit on the prints, though, so I'm not giving away services.

Just thought that was pretty funny. I'm printing up some letterhead and a letter to give to them to take back to the store tomorrow.
