I have a 40D with 28-135mm. I plan to buy a lens hood for it and possibly a 50mm in the future along with a flash. I will be carrying extra CF card, batteries, filters, and extra small stuff. I would like a nice low profile bag that has good protection and something that I can grab and go. I've looked at the Lowepro Nova 160 AW at my local electronics store but not sure how everything will fit in it. I would like some recommendations for some bags (links would be nice)

Try cambags.com and the sticky of bag reviews in the accessories area of the forum. Have a look at the Domke F-5xb too... May be big enough but look at the photos. There are quite a few options.

The Domke-5XB would fit the 40D with 28-135 and a flash or a lens, but not both.

What kind of bag are you looking for? Shoulder, sling, backpack? There are a lot of choices.

A shoulder bag would be a nice choice so that I can carry it around. Sling is considerable too.

Personally i use a 6 million dollar home by crumpler. It holds my 450D gripped with a tamron 28-75 hood reversed. In addition to that it can hold a 70-200 F/4 which i plan on buying in the next few months. So it can hold what you have without a problem.

What do you guys think of the Canon 40D/50D starter kit? Comes with bag, 72mm UV filter and a Canon battery. I'm also considering that since it comes with majority of the stuff I plan to buy. Amazon has it ~$100..
