You've got mail! In the form of a whole colony of CDs over the years. I never subscribed, and I'm still receiving them. I kept them for my young sons to use for play props.

I got this wild idea that if I bounced light off of them, I get get all these cool prismatic patterns to light other objects in exotic ways. I failed miserably at that (I don't have the equipment to light them at the perfect angles to cast off the desired effects), and the effect turned out to be less dramatic than I had hoped -- the reflection angle is far too high and narrow to get the effects I was seeking.

Anyway, just to salvage the effort spent lining them all up, I shot this with my G3 in manual mode. My first ever photo experiment, I guess. I thought the colors looked neat.

Here is another photo of my setup -- with my 4-year-old son's face in position for one of my failed "exotic reflection" attempts. This was done with ambient lighting, purposely underexposed with my G3 so that the disks would not be so bright and dominatiing -- they take over quickly. I liked his reflection in them, so I'm going to keep this one, although my wife is uncorfortable with the "floating head" look.

If anybody can guess what that white line is, I'd be impressed. I'll give you a hint -- if you guess what the line is -- you can guess what the CDs are sitting on, which is basically the only piece of furniture in my whole "studio" set-up.
