I love the shot but it just wasn't very crisp, I just couldn't get it to pop, so I went this direction and would love your thoughts on both the processing and the shot itself.
Thanks for looking!

I can't argue with you there...although I guess that's why I went with this processing, and honestly, I still like it...just not very exciting I suppose.
Thanks for dropping a note, Michel.

If the little boy is more to the right of the juggler or not in the picture at all, it might look better.

Flo, here it is as shot...
I began by adjusting levels, contract, saturation, curves, etc. to try and make it pop...when I decided it just wasn't going to work out the way I wanted (mostly due to my blown focus and fact that it is underexposed) I went this other direction because I really liked the composition, cascade of pins, the colors, etc., so I added some noise, selectively reduced saturation, added vignette and adjusted wb...kinda of going for a 70's look...
Should I have trashed it after all?

I like the concept, but if I were composing the picture I would have taken it more head on with the juggler, then you could have seen the boy's eyes as he watched. Just MHO
:-)

A lot noise, but great concept. I would have walked to the left and focused past the juggler and on the boys face.

The image is soft because you used a wide open aperture.. 2.8 gives you very little room for error in focus. Shooting at 2.8 with a shutter speed of 200 is not going to capture/stop that action. Up your ISO get the shutter speed up.. I would think you would need to be above 500 to get any of the action stopped. It looks as if the focal plane is on the kid's backpack.
Too bad, it is a nice concept, but you need more Depth of Field on this one.
