OOoo, yup, there's another 8-track tape I'll have to find on eBay.
My lovely children stole my quad player, my reverb, and all my tapes-- as well as most of my CDs. It sucks when your kids like the same music. Although. I do get a lot of good songs from them on occasion and links to fun new bands.

Cowsill's were before the Partridge family - they were happening about the time of the Carpenter's (if I recall right!)
As Woolburr said, the Partridge Family was a TV show loosely based on the real life Cowsills. David Cassidy became a teen heart throb as a result of that show. The Carpenters were around the same time. I remember them playing the song, "Close to You" at the junior high sock hops. It was a great slow dance song.

I like a lot of my kids' music, like AFI, Hinder, and Evanescence. I draw the line at Cradle of Filth, though.

It has been called that too....we used to spend New Year's at our cabin in NY....just an outhouse...and you didn't linger.
OMG - amateur's!
When I was coming up - my mothers family had a 2 hole but we used a bucket (in a bedroom) in the winter ... then dumped it every so often as needed

I loved the Carpenters...cried buckets when she died.
And Wu, when my daughter was here this weekend, she plugged into my itunes and downloaded my music. Doesn't seem to matter the devices, the results are the same...but sadly she only downloads country music so I don't really "get any new stuff" from her.

I have lovely boys with tastes as weird as their mother's. We enjoy a wide variety from punk to blues to metal to to zydeco to bluegrass, classical and on and on. My DIL's aren't quite so diverse so they get a little bugged when we are playing the latest Dragonforce or such. man those guys can manipulate the strings!! have seldom seen such fast fingers.

Well, I transferred from the XT to the 30, so to me, the 30 was as cool as sliced bread. Lisa has the 5D, and she's in love. I assume if I ever had something in a 1 series body, I would look upon the 30 as I do the XT now. That being said, I like the size of the 30, its speed is good enough for me, and I find it ergonomic for what I'm doing in the area of photography, which is eclectic at best. It's not for everyone, but I like it.

Yoda, don't talk to me about years. . . you could never win!
IF we wait til the "right" time for anything we wait forever.
I can respect your desire to wait, but the longer you wait, the tougher it gets.
I'm OK. just darned sleepy. I didn't break a hip so I should be fine. :) I've made it up and down the basement stairs with no more spills so I am good
Ohh ok.. must remind self that these folks are at least 2X own age..
And I don't intend to wait forever, just a few weeks because Real Soon Now I will be on my way home.. THAT is the priority, and 724ISL.. WHAHAHAHHAHAHHAA.. I'm gonna buy it from the bloke anyway.... (now it's a question: which bloke.. no I don't want to hear "do you love me?")
The other thing is.. I'm also concerned about starting something that I may not be able to finish.. I'm not gonna be here forever, my hitch ends and then I am headed home - and long distance simply doesn't work the way you want it to work especially when you don't anticipate coming back...

That might explain why you understand me better.. (you have the wisdom and insight and yet are not too far removed... no offence to those a bit more senior.. but the smaller the difference the better the probability.. it's just a probability)
And since when did PG start speaking Aussie? ;)
Actually, buy the 300/4L off me at $950 and I might be able to 'tip' her generously....

OK, here it is. The one time I'll actually give some serious advice, to the detriment of my reputation. Go to the girl. Be honest. Be real. Sure, you'll be nervous; all men have been there... some more than once or twice. Take her to some neutral ground... coffee house is great, but even a silly hot dog stand for lunch and a trip out to the park can work. Talk about her. Notice her. It's not about you, it's about her. Don't drag it out, know when to say goodbye for the day, but ask if it's OK to swap contact info. Again, a strong dose of reality, and human humor will go far.
If that doesn't work, well, geez, go for the club routine.... :)
