This looks like I could roll it around with me at weddings and traveling as well.

The 1510 is a very nice case...I am debating getting one to take in the car...plus it is the largest case that meets all major airline carry-on rules.

I've done that. I've gone in and picked out different color fabrics for some macro stuff I've been doing. I picked out the colors, but, being alone (Lisa would've known what to do, but she wasn't there to hold my hand), I was clueless.... Some little ol' lady came by and helped me out. :o

There are certain stores that manly men just don't go into, fabric stores being high on the list. Michael's Arts and Crafts stores are pretty scary, too.

I wonder how they look at my son...he works in one...best job he could find at school...been doing it a couple years now and is an assistant manager...he likes the 12 bucks an hour they are paying him to cut up fabric.

I've never missed an episode...

I missed the last four seasons, but I'm catching up. I have all 10 seasons and am slowly working my way back through them. I'm almost through season six right now.

I saw the first South Park long before most people ever heard of it. Beavis & Butthead, too. Back in the late 80's or so, my brother and I used to go to the Spike & Mike's "Sick & Twisted Festival of Animation" exhibits every year. SP and B&B both premiered during those. The "Mike" of "Spike & Mike" is none other than Mike Judge (of Beavis & Butthead, and King of the Hill). I met him and his dog Scotty at those festivals a few times. Those were fun days.

I used to look down at South Park - I thought it was disgusting and how dare they have kids talking like that, etc... But then high school came, and our teacher let some kids show a few episodes on the projector every-so-often...

So I started watching them - and while the kids do cuss too much for their age - there is always a good point to the story that applies to our society today... Of course you have to dig really hard to find that point - but there is one there. They are almost, ever so slighty, educational....

I'm not in the top 10 posters, and I didn't send a PM. But I did think it'd be a funny lookin' hanging, what with you eating an ENTIRE MEXICAN BUFFET... You woulda been able to float, but not float away because of the tether...

I have been to a fabric store, on several occasions, and several related to photography. One was for some nylon to make a big diffusion panel. Another time was for some black fabric for a backdrop (which my DW sewed together for me). Yet another time was... hey, you, wake up there! (pokes with stick)

Nothing wrong with Craftsman tools - my Dad has some tools from 40 years ago - still going strong. And if you break it, take it in and get another one for free...
yea i know... but if you ever use any snap on or Mac you will see the difference. It is like an L versus a Leica or Zeiss... I am just lucky to have friends with lots of them. If you break them they will come to you and replace it. They don't break that often either.

A plus for craftsman is they took back a socket that my grandpa had heated up with a Oxy/actyline (spelling). Torch and hammered off something cracking it.. I was really shocked.

Sometimes not so deeply. I used to use them is Soc classes. Good stuff. Can't do it here, though.

When I get my own house, I want to rig up a door bell that after dark emits the sound of a shell being jacked in to my 12 gauge....

Usually SWMBO runs the solicitors off. I'm rather proud of the fact that she can give "The Death Glare" over the intercom. It's more effective than a Doberman Pinscher or a Rottweiller.

What's wrong with cheap cast aluminum? I thought everyone enjoyed busting knuckles when a tool breaks. Then you can fix it, instead of buying a new one for $1.50.

Well, that was weird... We had a solicitor come by our door, oh, probably 15-20 minutes ago. I'm glad we have an intercom by the porch, so I didn't have to open the door to dismiss said solicitor. Strange for them to be coming by around a quarter past 8 in the evening when it's dark outside. Oh, and there was a home invasion robbery in Murrieta the other night at an apartment complex not terribly far from my house. According to the paper, they suspects just vanished...

That's just creepy.

Harbor freight has some good stuff.. you just have to be picky about what you choose and don't expect much out of it. It is great for stuff you won't use very often.. (compression testers for example). Though I know a guy how runs a pipe bending job shop that uses some of there power tools all the time.

I used to think it was cool - in fact I have a 15pc screwdriver set from them that hasn't broke yet - but their power tools, air compressors, and a few other things were not worth it. The 15 LED flashlight from them died in two months, and it wasn't the batteries...

NZ converted to metric in the 60's sometime. I have only ever known metric. However we still measure a baby's weight in pounds and peoples height in feet and inches.

however more and more even that's metric. changing something like that takes time and not all at once. it's just a case of making the change over a generation or two. once the world drives on the right side of the road and measures everything the same way, then we will have world peace :)
